About the Health Forum
The Health Forum on Gender Based Violence (GBV), which started in September 2018, aims to provide space for physicians to discuss the role they play in combating Gender Based Violence, and to deepen their understanding of issues related to it. In addition, the forum links professionals from other fields such as law and psychology who also work on the same issue, to promote cooperation among all specialists in combating gender-based violence.
The Forum is organized and sponsored by the Institute for Reproductive Health & Rights together with the Sudanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the International Representative Committee of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (UK).
- Introduce the work of the Health Forum on GBV to the wider community working on GBV in Sudan
- Explore the overlap between the health and legal systems
- Emphasize the importance of collaboration between government, civil society and international agencies
